Turnitin Draft Coach: Improve Your Work Before You Submit

Write with Confidence

Turnitin Draft Coach is a writing support tool available to Mohawk College students through Microsoft Word Online. It helps you review your work before submission by identifying potential issues with similarity, citations, and grammar so you can make informed revisions and strengthen your academic writing skills. Draft Coach is designed to help you learn and improve your writing rather than automatically correcting your work for you.

What Can Draft Coach Help With?

Draft Coach provides feedback in key areas while you write:
  1. Similarity Check*

Review text that may closely match published sources or other materials and identify places where additional citation, paraphrasing, or quotation marks may be needed.
*Students can run up to three Similarity Checks per document.

  2. Citation Check

Review citations and references for potential issues and identify opportunities to improve citation accuracy.

  3. Grammar Guide

Receive feedback on grammar, punctuation, and writing mechanics, along with explanations that can help you become a stronger writer over time.

  4. View Full Report

Once you have run at least one Similarity Check, you can view a full report. Selecting the "View Full Report" button at the bottom of your Draft Coach similarity report will launch your draft into a new window.

  • Use the feedback to learn and improve your writing, citation, and research skills.
  • Complete a final proofread before submitting your assignment.
  • Save your work regularly in OneDrive so you can access it from anywhere through Microsoft 365.
