What's a Virtual Private Network (VPN)?Virtual Private Networks, or VPNs, once connected, make your device look like it is on a College controlled network. A VPN is useful for accessing applications or software that can only be accessed on-site due to licensing requirements. You do not need a VPN to access most Mohawk applications and services. |
Why do I need to use a VPN?
Some software has restrictions that could be any of the below and are often combined in many cases:
- College controlled network
- Active Student
- Geography
- College owned device
- A device joined to our college domain
While connected to the Mohawk VPN, your internet connection will be considered to be connected to the college network. Any authentication methods used by the college such as the Multi-Factored Authentication (MFA) used my MyMohawk or MyCanvas will treat your connection as if you are connected on campus and will not require additional authentication.
